Ahead of the 38th Golden Disc Awards in January 2024, the event has been teasing fans about the stages prepared by the artist lineup. Just then, Shawols complained to the organizers for "disrespecting" SHINee Taemin after doing THIS.
On January 6, 2024, the 38th Golden Disc Awards (GDA) will be held at the International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, which will be hosted by ASTRO Cha Eun Woo and veteran singer Sung Si Kyung.
Through this event, the ceremony will honor the best Korean music releases and artists who reigned from Nov. 2022 to early Nov. 2023.
Golden Disc Awards Teases Junior Idols' Dance Cover of SHINee Taemin's 'Guilty'
Before the event, GDA has been revealing the lineup of artists who will join to perform and become presenters, as well as the special stages prepared for the ceremony.
On December 28, GDA then posted 4-cut spoilers on its official social media platforms, which hints at the songs junior idols would be performing at the ceremony.
One photo particularly drew the attention of Shawols (SHINee fandom), which is said to resemble Taemin's logo for his recent hit, "Guilty," released in October.

Originally, when rookies & junior idols would have special stages or covers of legendary artists' hits, fans would often show and give supportive as well as enthusiastic responses.
However, the post, which has now over 1.3 million views on the X platform met the anger and frustration of SHINee Taemin's fandom.
Here's the Reason Shawols Are Unhappy About Other Idols Doing Cover of SHINee Taemin's 'Guilty' at GDA 2023
Among fandoms, Shawols are often one of the most proud and supportive when another artist would cover SHINee's songs.
But this time, they raised their brows and criticized GDA for letting other idols perform "Guilty" in an awards ceremony when the artist himself was not given the opportunity to do so.
In a live broadcast, Taemin initially revealed that he has been planning to do a stage for "Guilty" to perform at year-end ceremonies and music awards, but he confessed that it "can't be done" and it made him feel sad.
Thus, seeing him feel that way and be held back from performing his song while other junior idols do it, triggered Shawols' anger.
Golden Disc Award particularly caught the blame for allowing other artists to perform the song when Taemin wasn't even invited to the awards ceremony nor nominated.
Shawols also called out SM Entertainment for not being able to do anything to grant the male icon's desire to perform his song at such events.
In the meantime, the fandom has been calling the attention of both the events' organizers and the idol's company to address the "disrespect" the artist suffered.
