He stated that this happened just last year. He is the type of person who likes to talk to people, and he talked about how one day someone kept sending them messages. Though he was solely focused on exercising, exchanging messages with that person became their past time. In a short time, he grew closer to that person without even knowing who they were.

"I experienced vulnerability at times, and that was only a year ago. I communicate online a lot these days, and one day I got a message from someone on a regular basis. I was just concentrating on working out, so I wasn't drinking, but messaging this person turned into my hobby."

He then reveals how he was scammed. The person they were talking to claimed they wanted to celebrate Kim Sang Hyuk's birthday and asked if they used Bitcoin. They promised dividends if Kim Sang Hyuk deposited US dollars into their wallet address. Though he was suspicious, he ended up depositing 1 million won.

The former idol states that he was not in love with that person; he just wanted to hear kind words from them. In the end, however, he was scammed a large sum.

"The person asked if I used Bitcoin and told me that they wanted to celebrate my birthday. If I put US cash into a certain wallet address, they said I would receive dividends. When they asked for my money, I was suspicious, but I ultimately gave them 1 million won. Dividends were coming in every six hours, and I eventually lost twenty million won. It could have been a man or a random person. I just wanted to hear nice things from them; I didn't necessarily love them."
