After faking his low IQ and mental disability to dodge military enlistment, THIS K-pop idol was given a sentence of 1 year in prison, suspended for 2 years.
Earlier, a K-pop idol was reported to have cheated on his intellectual disability diagnosis to evade the mandatory military service.
However, he was eventually caught lying due to his "idol background." The court stated that while he was preparing to debut, he didn't encounter any problems related to his mental disability, let alone during their idol activities.
K-pop Idol Receives 1-Year Jail Term Service for Faking Mental Disability: 'Low IQ of 60'
In a news released by the Korea Herald, it was revealed that after a trial, the South Korean court has sentenced the male idol in question to 1-year imprisonment with 2-year probation. He was also to complete an 80-hour community service.
The Seoul Northern District Court's Criminal Division 9 gave the final sentence considering that he admitted his crimes, had no prior criminal records and attested to complete his military enlistment as planned.

Meanwhile, it was not the first time that it was reported that he attempted to escape his military enlistment. Way back in 2011 & 2017, he was originally classified for class 1 and 2 active duty service, respectively.
Denying the claims, he submitted a diagnosis of mental disability and submitted it to the Military Manpower Administration in 2020.
It was found out that in 2019, he made up exaggerated symptoms and illness, then reported false answers during his comprehensive psychological exams, when he had to be treated at a hospital for seven months. This is also the time when he faked having an IQ of 60.
The male idol's pretense worked and he was issued a certificate from the hospital that he has a "mild mental disability," which will lower his eligibility to level 4 social welfare worker.

Based on various K-media outlets, the idol is said to be 32 years old now and the leader of an idol group that debuted in 2018.
Prior to that, he worked as a singer from 2012 until 2022. While he was working as a group, he was responsible for planning choreography, costumes, stages and fan meetings.
In some articles, he was referred to as "Mr. Ahn."But one media named Domo from the boy group Like A Move (LAM).
On January 18, Domo admitted this to a now-deleted Instagram post, where he also exposed his co-members and staff wrongdoings.
