On January 17, 2024, a post titled, "Did Giselle redo her double eyelids?" was posted to a popular South Korean online community forum. In the post, the author shared several photos of Giselle at a recent fan event.

In the photos, Giselle's double eyelids appear more prominent and puffier. Her eyes appeared bigger and more puppy-like. This is a stark contrast from her previous look. In the past, Giselle made waves for her fox-like visuals at events, with sharp eyes and features.

Many who saw the post came to the consensus that she must have undergone double eyelid surgery. Internet users claimed they were saddened by the change in look, saying her new eyes do not match her. People believe she looked better with in-line eyelids, as it made her look more charming.

Others claimed she was starting to resemble Ham So Won, a Korean actress and broadcaster who underwent several cosemtic surgery procedures.

Additionally, people believe this is not the first time Giselle has touched her eyelids. Comparing her pre-debut photos with other images from different aespa eras, Giselle's eyeshape seems to constantly change, leading many to wonder why she feels the need to go through different procedures.

She is not the only SM Entertainment idol speculated to have gone under the knife. On this same day, photos of Red Velvet member Joy went viral, with many claiming she too had double eyelid surgery. Many joked that it's the "season" for SM artists to get their touch-ups.
