(G)I-DLE Yuqi Reveals Honest Feelings About Coming Contract Renewal With Cube Entertainment
On February 1, 2024, Yuqi of (G)I-DLE appeared in the latest episode of the YouTube show, "No Back Tak."
During the show, the hosts, Tak Jae Hoon and Shin Gyu Jin, mentioned Yuqi's Instagram followers. With over eight million followers, the hosts asked if Yuqi followed any accounts back. She then reveals that she doesn't, as her company, CUBE Entertainment, does not allow her to.
Hearing this, Tak Jae Hoon asked Yuqi when her contract with the company expires. With a wide grin on her face, Yuqi replied, "Only one year and three months left!"

Seeing how happy she is, Tak Jae Hoon teased the idol and said, "You've been counting down the days, huh?" Though Yuqi tried to deny how excited she is, the hosts noted how Yuqi seemed over the moon with how close her contract is to expiring.
They even joked that talking about how much time is left in her contract brought Yuqi the most genuine smile during the whole interview. Host Shin Gyu Jin even stated that it was her most genuine moment.
Tak Jae Hoon questioned her again, asking, "One year and six months left, right?" Yuqi was quick to correct him, saying there was only a year and three months left.
Shin Gyu Jin then compared Yuqi to men in the military. Typically, those going through mandatory military service count how many days they have left until they are discharged.
Yuqi attempted to deny that she was excited for her contract to expire, throwing up a heart and saying, "No! I love Cube!"
(G)I-DLE debuted under CUBE Entertainment in May 2018. If they are following a standard seven-year contract, they are expected to discuss renewals some time in early 2025.
