Not So "Lucky," Kim Hyun Joong MV Ruled Hazardous

Another video condemned by ‘The Man’. The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family (MGEF) has ruled Kim Hyung Joong’s “Lucky Guy” casino inspired music video “hazardous for children.”

Many people feel the ruling is harsh and are asking why? Maybe the MGEF fears that the video will rile up children’s’ urges to gamble. The MGEF frowns upon any content encouraging drinking, smoking or gambling.

Kim Hyun Joong himself had concerns when filming the video. Fearing that the MGEF would ban the video, he made the table out of “Blue Marble,” a Korean board game similar to “Monopoly”. While the video was based on the U.S. film “Ocean’s Eleven” Kim Hyun Joong gave it more of a comic vibe to keep the MGEF away. Unsuccessfully, the video will not be allowed to air between the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

This isn’t the first video of Kim Hyun Joong’s to get banned. “Please” from his debut solo album was also ruled “hazardous for children” last August, for lyrics containing “drunk” and “smoke”.

Ironically, Kim Hyun Joong is arrested at the end. If anything doesn’t this video teach a lesson?

You be the judge.
