When Will Onew Return to SHINee? Taemin Asks Fans' Patience for Group Comeback
While the group excellently carried the show with only three members Key, Minho, and Taemin, there were increasing concerns about Onew's comeback to group activities after announcing his hiatus.
In early June 2023, SM Entertainment decided to suspend SHINee's leader and main vocalist activities due to his poor health condition. This was a response after the idol sparked worries when he was seen with a drastic weight loss before their full group comeback with "HARD."
While he was occasionally greeting fans to update them on his recovering health, the fandom who is usually chill expressed their getting thinner patience due to SM's lack of updates about Onew, not to mention that he was constantly excluded in SHINee's merch and activities that don't require a high level of physical energy to participate with.
As a result, SHINee Taemin, the group's beloved maknae comforted fans by addressing this concern during the concert's ment.
He said:
"I (also) hope to stand on stage with Onew-sang someday, along with the other four members of SHINee. You will all patiently wait for that, right?
I'm so thankful beyond words for such a relationship. With that, we will continue to grow as SHINee moving forward.
Thanks to all of you, I think SHINee will be able to keep going. Please continue to take care of us."
Although Onew's return to SHINee and solo activities is still vague, Shawols felt relieved following Taemin's words. They then wished Onew to have his full recovery and come back whenever he's ready.
