Former OH MY GIRL JinE 'Mocks' aespa Karina on Instagram

On February 28, 2024, netizens were shocked when former idol and OH MY GIRL member JinE shaded Karina on her Instagram Stories.

The former idol took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of her. In her photo, she is seen wearing a white hoddie, posing against the snowy background. However, what garnered attention was the caption of her post.

She captioned her Instagram Story with "Karina Karina Karina Narina LOL." In English, this translates to, "Karina Karina Karina everything is a mess LOL."

Following the Instagram Story update, several netizens took to social media and online community forums to slam JinE. Many believe the former OH MY GIRL member was shading Karina amid the heat of her dating news with actor Lee Jae Wook.

Despite not being an idol anymore, she is still a public figure due to her past as a celebrity. Because of that, people believe she should have been more conscious of her words. Many slammed her for being rude and trying to garner clout by causing a stir on social media.

Former OH MY GIRL JinE Apologizes for Shading aespa Karina on Instagram

Following the backlash, JinE issued a public apology on her Instagram Story.

In her post, she apologized for her words. She revealed her post was her reaction to the news, as Karina was her favorite member of aespa. It appears JinE was one of the fans hurt by the sudden dating news and could not hold back her emotions.

The story features words against a black, static background. In her post, she writes, "I apologized if what I said was inappropriate. I just wanted to express my sadness because she (Karina) is my favorite member."

As of writing, the apology is still available for viewing on her Instagram Story. However, the Story of her initial post mocking Karina is no longer available.
