SHINee Taemin To Leave SM Entertainment + Sign With THIS Company
On March 5, 2024, it was reported that Taemin would be leaving SM Entertainment.
According to an exclusive report from Sports News, Taemin has decided to sign an exclusive contract with Big Planet Made Entertainment following the expiration of his contract with SM Entertainment.
Taemin debuted with SHINee in 2008 and as a soloist in 2014, and has been with SM Entertainment for 16 years. Recently, both parties decided to conclude Taemin's personal activities without renewing the exclusive contract as it reached its expiration.
However, Taemin will remain with SM Entertainment for his activities with SHINee.
Taemin has gained significant popularity both as a member of SHINee and as a solo artist. Through his work as a solo artist, he has been hailed as an "all-time great male solo singer" thanks to songs like "Move," "Want," and "Guilt," which showcase his deadly charm, earning him the nickname "Reverse Solo Man."

However, Taemin is not the only SHINee member reportedly leaving the label.
It was reported that Onew would also be leaving the agency.
According to multiple entertainment industry sources on March 5, 2024, Onew is wrapping up his exclusive contract with SM Entertainment in the first half of this year.
Various possibilities are being considered for his future endeavors. Currently, it is unknown whether he plans to sign with a new agency.
Onew, who debuted as a SHINee member in 2008, has been loved for numerous hit songs such as "Replay," "View," "Ring Ding Dong," and "Sherlock."
In 2018, to celebrate his solo debut, Onew released his first solo album, "Voice," marking his official solo debut. He has been actively engaged in both group and solo activities, with activities in both Korea and Japan. Onew even held his first solo concert in March last year to meet his fans.
Initially, he planned to celebrate SHINee's 15th anniversary activities with the release of their eighth full-length album. Unfortunately, due to health issues, he had to suspend his activities. Currently, Onew is still on hiatus and prioritizing his health.
