IU, the beloved South Korean singer and songwriter, recently graced her fans with a special interview on her YouTube channel.
In a heartwarming twist, the interviewer was none other than her own mother, the muse behind IU's poignant song "Shh.." from her latest album, The Winning.
A Heartfelt Conversation
From the outset, the duo shared a candid and vulnerable conversation, delving into a range of topics from somber reflections to moments of regret.
Among these moments, IU's mother bravely voiced a sentiment that had long troubled her perceived shortfall in passing on "good genes" to her daughter.
"I don't think I gave you the good genes," IU's mother confessed, specifically lamenting her own height and attributing IU's 162 cm (5'4″) stature to her genetics.
Disputing the Notion
IU, in her characteristically sassy style, immediately rebuffed her mother's self-criticism. She adamantly stated that there was no truth to the idea that her genes were anything less than excellent. Embracing her petite frame, IU expressed her contentment with her height, asserting that she wouldn't have it any other way.
"That's not true...you always feel sorry about being short saying, ‘You would've been taller if I was just a bit taller than now," IU countered, confidently affirming her stance that shorter women exude a natural cuteness-just like herself.
Embracing Self-Confidence
In a light-hearted moment, IU's mother teasingly questioned her daughter about her perception of herself. Unfazed, IU responded with unwavering self-assurance, declaring proudly,
"Yes, I think I am cute."
This endearing exchange between IU and her mother not only highlights their close bond but also serves as a powerful message of self-acceptance and confidence.
Recently, IU the K-pop soloist, noticed a YouTube reaction video by an elderly American fan named Zev, who goes by "Grandpa UAENA." Zev, a certified UAENA, expressed his admiration for IU's music video and her talents as a singer, actress, and producer.
Impressed by his video, IU shared snippets on her Instagram Stories, complimenting Zev's outfit and expressing gratitude for his support. She extended an invitation for him to attend her concert in America, expressing hope that he would enjoy her new album.
