NewJeans Hyein's Shocking Confessions About IU's 'Shh...' Collaboration Revealed — 'Actually, I felt a little upset...'

NewJeans member Hyein opened up about her experience featuring in IU's latest album, "The Winning," particularly on the b-side track "Shh..."

Meeting at HYBE Building in Seoul

The conversation, held at the HYBE building in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, delved into the backstory of how Hyein came to lend her vocals to IU's song.

She recounted, "I'm also curious about how the featuring was decided. Fans speculated that it was because senior singer IU showed enthusiastic responses when I sang on ‘Palette' with the members'. Actually, I felt a little upset about myself back then."

Emotions and Gratitude

Previously, NewJeans had appeared on IU's YouTube series "IU's Palette" and performed live alongside the acclaimed singer.

Hyein expressed, "I wanted to do even better because I was singing in front of a senior I've liked and respected ever since I was a trainee. That's why I was a little upset. Still, I was grateful that she noticed my good parts and I was able to find a new vocal ability."

A Showcase of Vocal Versatility

NewJeans Hyein, known for her lighter vocals in NewJeans's music, revealed a different aspect of her voice in IU's "Shh..." with a deeper, resonant tone.

Explaining the shift, she said, "CEO Min Hee-jin wanted me to sing with a comfortable voice because our songs need it to be comfortable to listen to. However, this time, other seniors also participated so I thought I should showcase my own color in this song."

Additionally, Hyein shared that fellow member Hanni assisted her with singing practice, while the entire group showered her with compliments on her performance. This collaborative effort highlights the camaraderie within NewJeans as they support each other in their individual and group endeavors.

In recent news, NewJeans faces backlash over perceived weight gain among members, sparking debates on image management in entertainment. A post titled "NewJeans, please lose some weight" on Nate Pann garnered attention, with fans expressing concerns.

Some stress the need to maintain the group's original look, while others call for proactive measures. Only Daniel is exempt from observed weight gain according to member analysis, highlighting broader discussions on idol health and public image.
