BoA raised concerns after she scoured her Instagram and unfollowed everyone except her late brother. What happened?
BoA Deletes Posts & Unfollows Everyone Except Late Brother + What Is Going On?
While fans think that the deletion is BoA's preparation for her upcoming comeback, some people are expressing worries to the "K-pop Queen," claiming that this is out of her character.
On March 20, the icon became a hot topic on SNS after her startling move on Instagram. From having about 260 followings on the social media platform, BoA decided to unfollow everyone except Kwon Soon Wook, her late brother who passed away in 2021 due to cancer.
From having over 1,000 feed posts, she was also assumed to have deleted/turned private everything, leaving only her comeback teaser photos.
BoA also changed her profile picture which she has been using for a long time to a photo of a heart-shaped tin can with the word, "emptiness."
BoA Draws Concern From Jumping BoAs, Fans Leave Idol Cheering Messages
Initially, fans claimed that BoA must have deleted her Instagram feed and unfollowed everyone in line with her upcoming comeback single, "Emptiness," set for release on March 26.
Fans claimed that it could be a concept, and mentioned Apink Namjoo who also cleared her Instagram prior to her solo release. However, Jumping BoAs (fandom) were still worried.
Some claimed that it was a negative sign that the star could be suffering from something, referring to her new profile photo and how she unfollowed everyone except her late brother.
In fact, in her recent comeback teaser, she wrote the caption:
"You, will you be okay if I'm gone?"
It's not new for K-pop idols to incorporate their personal struggles in their music; thus, fans are curious about what led BoA to release the single with an "ominous" concept and title.
Here are some of the replies to her recent posts:
- "Unnie, why did you delete all your posts?"
- "This is not okay, oh my gosh!"
- "It will hurt (without you)."
- "Eh, why would you be gone? Is there something wrong?"
- "I can't possibly continue without you. Because watching your stage is my happiness."
- "I know this is only for the comeback, but it's actually making me sad."
Meanwhile, BoA will release her new song "Emptiness" on March 26, her comeback after 1 year and 4 months. This will be her first release as a soloist after a while, following her recent job as an actress and producer.
Recently, she made a buzz by making her acting comeback through the hit tvN drama, "Marry My Husband." She also proved her decades of experience as the producer of SM Entertainment's new NCT sub-unit and boy group, NCT Wish.
This time, she is gaining attention as she returns to her full-time job as a K-pop idol.
