While Eunhae, Donghae, and Kyuhyun left SM Entertainment, their fellow Super Junior members Heechul and Yesung revealed why they decided to remain under the label.
In a teaser released by MBC's "Radio Star" ahead of its broadcast on March 27, Super Junior was introduced as the guest. The episode will feature the hilarious relationship between members Heechul, Leeteuk, Yesung, and Eunhyuk.
During the show, what caught the attention of fans the most was their deciding factor of remaining and leaving SM Entertainment.
Heechul Draws Laughter After He Revealed He Renewed Contract With SM Due to Lee Soo Man
Ahead of the group's 20th debut anniversary, Super Junior showed the risk of disbanding when Super Junior members Eunhyuk, Donghae, and Kyuhyun decided to pursue individual activities outside SM Entertainment.
The two aforementioned started their own label, while their maknae moved to Antenna. At the time, all members were also hesitant to renew aside from Leeteuk and Yesung.
Seeing all of this, Heechul expressed his real feelings about their contract renewal, and mentioned the reason he decided to remain under the company.
"The atmosphere of the meeting was bloody. I renewed my contract because of teacher Lee Soo Man, but he also left."
Drawing laughter for being "betrayed" by the SM's founder, Heechul also considered finding his new nest and chose Antenna.
However, Kyuhyun immediately dismissed this idea, dissing Heechul as he said:
"Heechul doesn't fit Antenna at all. Even our company said they can't handle Heechul."
Along with Heechul, Yesung also revealed the reason he stayed with SM and hilariously teased Donghae, Eunhyuk, and Kyuhyun for saying that he was actually excited for them to leave the company.
He explained:
"In the 19th year since my debut, I have been able to pursue my own music activities, which I was unable to do before. After the members left, I even got the tattoo I wanted to get all this time."
Eunhyuk Explains Reason He Built Own Label With Donghae
On the other hand, Eunhyuk, who is no longer under SM Entertainment revealed why he left it together with Donghae and established own label, ODE Ent.
He explained:
"Because there are so many members, there are bound to be fewer opportunities for us, and we left (SM) because there are many things we want to try."
He also hinted at his experience as a co-CEO, saying:
'I don't even drink coffee and I use my personal car (during my personal schedules)."
Hearing this Leeteuk scoffed at him, exposing their co-member as he said:
"If that’s the case, why did you leave? Eunhyuk left SM, but he keeps showing up at our company dinners."
