IVE Jang Wonyoung Reveals Upcoming Song Touches on Scrutiny Female Idols Endure
During the group's interview with Nylon, it is mentioned that Jang Wonyoung earned her sixth songwriting credit with a song called "Blue Heart," a b-sidetrack from their upcoming mini-album.
When asked what inspired her to work on the song, she stated that she was inspired by her work in the K-pop industry. According to Nylon, Jang Wonyoung alluded to how idols, especially female idols, are always hyperscrutinized by the media and netizens. They are always watched with a magnifying glass, with people waiting for them to make a mistake.
She stated that people are always very aggressive with them, so female idols chose to harden themselves instead of being warm so that they could protect themselves. She said,
"People in the world are very aggressive toward us, so some girls choose to have an icy blue heart rather than a warm red heart so they can be strong."

IVE is slated to make their comeback with their upcoming extended play, "IVE SWITCH," on April 29. The album will include two lead singles: "Accendio" and "Heya." According to Jang Wonyoung, "Accendio" is highly reminiscent of their 2022 hit, "LOVE DIVE," but more mature. It is dark and witchy, with lyrics alluding to magic.
"Heya" is a rap track inspired by a folk story told by the members of IVE themselves called "The Tiger Who Loved the Sun." According to the group, the music video is meant to showcase South Korea's beauty.
