IVE member Jang Wonyoung has sparked another trend, but this time it's not about fashion; this time, it's about mindset.
Jang Wonyoung is known as one of K-pop's "it girls." She has inspired several trends in the industry and has secured several brand deals because of that. However, there is one thing about the idol that is drawing attention, and it's not her visuals or her sense of style. This time, it's the idol's mindset.
Keep on reading for all the details.
'Wonyoung Thinking' Goes Viral Thanks To IVE Member's Positive Mindset
Jang Wonyoung recently became the center of the trend known as "Wonyoung Thinking." It started when, in one content, she was asked how she would react if she had to wait at a bakery because the bread she wanted was out of stock.
The idol surprised people with her optimistic mindset, saying, "The person in front of me bought all the bread, so isn't it lucky for me to get the freshly baked bread? As expected, Lady Luck is on my side."
Following this, one of Jang Wonyoung's fans commented on the idol's impressive mindset, "Positive thinking: There's still half a bottle of water. Negative thinking: There's only half a bottle of water left. Wonyoung thinking: I will drink water after practice, but I'll only drink half of the bottle. Drinking the whole thing is too much, but drinking less is not enough. Half is just right. I am totally Lucky Vicky!"
"Lucky Vicky" is another name for the trend, after Jang Wonyoung's English name.
Celebrities Dabbled in IVE Member's 'Wonyoung Thinking' Trend
Beyond positive thinking, "Wonyoung Thinking" has become a trend not only among IVE and Jang Wonyoung fans but also among the general public. This phenomenon extends to the entertainment industry as well.
Yu Byung Jae, who had acne on his face, joined the trend by posting, "I thought it would be nice to have some points because I dressed so plainly today, but I got two pimples on my nose and under my mouth! Totally lucky Vicky!"
The members of IVE have also dabbled in the "Wonyoung Thinking" trending while communicating with fans. Liz sent a message saying, "I missed Liz's part on the comeback day. Is this fate? I'm a lucky Liz!"
Jang Wonyoung herself is aware of this trend. During a recent mini fan meeting on "M! Countdown," she shyly captured fans' attention by saying, "Thursdays used to be so boring, but thanks to 'M Countdown,' I can endure another day before welcoming the weekend. I'm totally Lucky Vicky."
