aespa member Winter shared messages of support she received from her brother and father. The messages soon sparked suspicion that Winter's father was shading HYBE and its founder, Bang Si Hyuk.
On May 8, 2024, Winter took some time to communicate with fans via the paid fan communication platform Bubble. As she conversed with fans, Winter revealed that both her father and her brother sent her messages of support.
She recalled how her brother offered to help her when she was tired, saying, "Didn't my brother say he would take of everything for me when I said I was tired on Instagram?"
For reference, Winter had previously vented out some of her struggles on social media. Her brother then sent her a loving message that read, "Why are you struggling, toltol (Winter's nickname)? I will take care of everything for you."
Winter then revealed that her father saw the message from her brother, and also sent a a message of his own! In Winter's dad's message, he said, "I will!!!! Crush them all!!!! My daughter!!!!"
Though the message seems innocent, people were quick to speculate that Winter's dad was actually shading HYBE's founder, Bang Si Hyuk.
Amid allegations that Min Hee Jin was trying to usurp total management rights of ADOR from HYBE, the ADOR CEO held an emergency press conference to share her side. During the emotionally charged conference, Min Hee Jin revealed a series of KakaoTalk messages with Bang Si Hyuk.
In one of the messages, Bang Si Hyuk asked Min Hee Jin if she was ready to debut NewJeans, asking, "Can you crush aespa?" Min Hee Jin claimed she was so dumbfounded by the question that she only responded with "Hahaha." The ADOR CEO claimed she is not the type of person to "crush" others.
Though the group has nothing to do with the feud between Min Hee Jin and HYBE, they were unexpectedly dragged into controversy. This proved slightly problematic, as aespa and NewJeans's comeback timeline coincides, leading to a heated comeback battle.

As fans read the message from Winter's dad, they left supportive comments such as,
- "He will crush them, right?"
- "Their family bond is strong."
- "Winter's dad is a soldier... He really might crush them."
In other news, aespa is set to release their first studio album, "Armageddon," on May 27. They will release the single "Supernova" on May 13 as a pre-release, while their second single "Armageddon" will be released along with the album.
