MYs were blown away by aespa's choreography and music sneak peeks for "Supernova."
On May 10, aespa uploaded two posts on their official Instagram account, showing members Winter and NingNing dancing to the choreography of upcoming song "Supernova."
The post immediately gained attention on social media and online communities. On the same day (May 10), netizens established a thread titled, "aespa Revealing The Dance & Song (A Little Bit) to Supernova)," where they reacted to the engaging posts.
There, the author uploaded separate clips showing Winter and NingNing slaying the song's choreography. Watch the videos below:
The posts were met with ecstatic reactions from fans and netizens. In the forum, fans swarmed the comments section and admired that the group had brought back their "metallic" sound.
Meanwhile, some compared the song to BoA's "Hurricane Venus," while others expressed that the sound of "Supernova" was somehow a throwback to early SM songs. Read their comments below:
- "I just like the fact that this is aespa. I feel like I'll get addicted to that metallic sound the more I listen to it."
- "I like the metallic taste. It's freaking good."
- "The song kind of reminds me of BoA's Hurricane Venus."
- "I like this type of song and I understand what people mean by "metallic sound."
- "Ningning is such a good dancer."
- "Wow, this sounds like some SM songs from 15 years ago."
- "Ah crazy, my heart is beating. This is so my style."
However, some weren't satisfied with the choreography.
- "The dance looks very similar to a lot of their other choreos. They need a new choreographer immediately."
- "I wish they could have some footwork for their choreo in the future, most of their choreos annoy me so much for some reason."
- "The song is pretty good though. But I agree it sounds like Hurricane Venus. It's a shame that the dance looks so boring."
- "Me too, it's all arm movement and poses like the little shoulder lean they did that on Spicy please get better choreo."
- "I'd be in favor of simpler choreos if it meant they would sing live but like most groups nowadays, they usually don't."
On platform X (Twitter), MYs didn't mind and were more than happy to receive new content from the quartet. See their reactions below:
