NewJeans are currently promoting their second single album "How Sweet," which was officially released on May 24. However, the group's youngest member Hyein has been on a hiatus since April 10, when ADOR announced through the Phoning app that Hyein had felt pain in her foot.

ADOR also revealed that the injury occurred during practice and that according to the observation of medical professionals, a microfracture had been found in her foot. This led Hyein to temporarily halt her schedules with NewJeans to focus on her recovery.

"Hyein will be taking a break from her activities due to an injury sustained during practice," ADOR shared. "According to the examination from the hospital, a microfracture was discovered in her foot."

The agency added, "The medical staff advised her to limit her movement as much as possible until she recovers."

On May 8, ADOR released an update regarding Hyein's condition. Due to NewJeans' highly anticipated comeback, ADOR clarified further that Hyein will not be able to participate in the group's "How Sweet" promotions and would instead focus on her treatment and recovery.

"Hyein will not take part in the official promotional activities for the double sing ('How Sweet'), including music shows and performances to focus on her recovery," ADOR shared.

It also stated, "For other scheduled appearances aside from music shows and performances, her participation will be adjusted in a flexible manner based on her health and medical advice."

Following this, netizens were heartbroken to see a photo of Hyein walking with crutches. The photo, which made rounds on social media and online communities, had netizens and fans expressing their worries about the idol.

However, on May 31, Bunnies were delighted to see an update from the "Ditto" singer. On NewJeans' official Instagram account, Hyein uploaded several selfies, alongside a few images from their "Bubble Gum" music video filming.
