Former PRISITIN and I.O.I member Kyulkyung (also known as Zhou Jieqiong) is drawing mixed reactions for her dance cover of aespa's "Supernova."
On June 1, 2024, Kyullkyung shared a short video of her covering the choreography of aespa's "Supernova." Initially, fans believed the clip would draw an enthusiastic response, as it has been a while since people have seen Kyulkyung return to her idol roots.

However, the response was the opposite. Instead, Kyulkyung received backlash for her cover.
While some stated that it was normal for her moves to be clumsy because it had been a while since she last danced, most people expressed their disappointment in her expressions.
While dancing, Kyulkyung's face remained stiff and expressionless. This is a sharp contrast to her time in PRISTIN and I.O.I, where Kyulkyung was celebrated for her charisma and stage presence. Some say it is hard to believe she was able to debut as a K-pop diol twice.
Some comments read:
- "Wow, I just swiped and didn't recognize it was Zhou Jieqiong. I just thought it was a hot girl who was dancing and swiped away. Now I know it's actually Zhou Jieqiong."
- "To be honest, if you don't practice, any skill will degrade over time."
- "I was going to defend her, but after watching this video, I realized I couldn't defend her."
- "It's true that if you don't practice and dance for a long time, you'll look stiff. During her time in I.O.I and PRISTIN, she was a hot girl. It's a shame she's like this now."
Kyulkyung was first introduced to the public in 2016 after she competed on Mnet's "Produce 101" as a PLEDIS Entertainment trainee. She ranked sixth on the show and debuted with I.O.I, where she became famous.

After I.O.I disbanded, she re-debuted with PRIISTIN in 2017. Though well-loved, they disbanded after two years for unknown reasons. Kyulkyung returned to China after they disbanded and built her career there.
Currently, Kyulkyung is active as an actress in China. She has not appeared in any Korean program since 2019. During I.O.I's fifth anniversary reunion, Kyulkyung was unable to attend due to her schedules in China, though she did appear via a video call.
