Areum, former T-ARA member, refuted allegations of child abuse and drug use in a statement on June 4. Denying knowledge of being sent to prosecution, she stressed her current hospitalization due to stress.

"This is ridiculous! During the first custody meeting, my first child (5 years old) told me that he had been abused by my ex-husband, so I took him with me, and we were both investigated.

I have thoroughly undergone police investigations regarding this matter. Even the investigators sided with me at the time."

Areum voiced disbelief over the "child abuse" reports, citing her child's revelation of abuse by her ex-husband as the reason for their investigation.

"At that time, my ex-husband had someone else prescribe diet pills for him, manipulated the evidence then filed a lawsuit. I underwent a humiliating investigation, even having my hair pulled out for testing. I was, of course, cleared of all charges."

Moreover, she dismissed drug accusations as stemming from her ex-husband manipulating evidence during their divorce proceedings.

Despite facing recommendations for indictment on child welfare violations in May, Areum emphasized her innocence and cooperation with authorities throughout investigations into these claims.

Despite attributing these actions to a hacking incident, doubts persisted surrounding the couple.

Amid growing speculations and mounting scrutiny, Areum took a decisive step by terminating her relationship with C, marking a significant turn in the unfolding saga surrounding the former K-pop artist's tumultuous personal life.
