6 K-Pop Groups Who Disbanded After Just One Release: X1, PRISTIN V, MORE

Not every K-pop group that debuts experiences long-lasting careers. These six K-pop groups sadly disbanded after just one release.

1. X1

X1 was poised to be one of the biggest boy groups of the fourth generation. Debuting on August 27, 2019, with the single "FLASH," the group was formed through the Mnet survival show "Produce X 101."

Though initially contracted to promote together for five years, it was found that Mnet manipulated the votes and line-up of the final group. This led the group to abruptly stop all of their activities. After unsuccessful negotiations concerning the group's future activities amid the members' individual agencies, X1 sadly disbanded on January 6, 2020.

2. PRISTIN V

PRISTIN V debuted on May 28, 2018, with the single album, "Like A V," and its lead single, "Get It." They debuted as the first PRISTIN sub-unit with members Nayoung, Roa, Eunwoo, Rena, and Kyulkyung.

Sadly, it would be their only release as a group. After nearly two years since a whole-group release, PRISTIN disbanded on May 24, 2019.

3. Hinapia

Following PRISTIN's disbandment, former members Minkyeung (also known as Roa), Gyeongwon (Yuha), Eunwoo, Yaebin (Rena), and new member Bada, came together to debut as Hinapia. The group made their debut on November 3, 2019.

Though they announced they were planning to make a comeback in early 2020, it was announced on August 21 that the group had disbanded, and the contracts of all the members were terminated.

4. The Ark

The Ark debuted on April 10, 2015, with the single album "Somebody 4 Life" and its lead single, "The Light." Sadly, this would be their only release, with The Ark disbanding sometime in 2016.

It was revealed that the main vocalist Yujin developed vocal cord nodules, forcing her to leave the group. Though their company, Music K, attempted to search for a new main vocal, the group ultimately disbanded.

5. KHAN

Following The Ark's disbandment, Jeon Minju and Euna Kim reunited and debuted in the duo KHAN. They debuted on May 23, 2018, with the single, "I'm Your Girl?" under Maroo Entertainment.

In December 2019, Maroo Entertainment removed KHAN from the artists section on their website. In March 2020, Euna Kim confirmed the group disbanded, citing mistreatment as one of the reasons they chose not to continue their idol lives.

6. BULLDOK

BULLDOK debuted on October 20, 2016, with the single "Why Not." They disbanded sometime in late 2018 after member Kimi left their agency to focus on her solo activities.

The group originally debuted with five members, but by the end of 2017, three members had left. In 2018, their company, Kconic Entertainment, placed the group on hiatus. While their disbandment was never publicized, fans believe the girl group has been dissolved since all of their social media has been deleted.
