Albums Gifted by K-pop Idols to THIS Boy Group Found on Sale — What Happened?

In a reselling online market, multiple albums speculated to be gifts for THIS boy group were put on sale. In response, its fandom took to SNS to explain what really happened.

On June 19, an X user drew attention to K-pop stans after discovering that the boy group TAN has been "selling" signed albums given to them by various K-pop idols.

In the OP's post, she provided a screenshot of the listings put on eBay, where a signed album of the boy group ATBO addressed to TAN was being sold for $45.

Looking at the same reselling account, other albums given to TAN such as from ily:1, CSR, YOUNITE and even their own signed albums were being sold.

As of the writing, the post has now about half a million views and a lot of K-pop enthusiasts were curious about how the albums ended up on eBay, some teased that the members must have done it.

However, TAN supporters, SODA, immediately jumped to the group's defense, them blaming its label, THINK Entertainment.

Based on the listing's description, the albums were all legit and were retrieved from the archive of the now-defunct office of the label.

In particular, the employees and artists under the company moved to a different office after the controversy involving its artist Kim Ho Joong.

Last month, it was revealed that his manager attempted to cover Kim's DUI case, leading THINK to fire all of its employees, announce a whole internal change and discuss its contracts with its artists.

With this background, fans are speculating that the label was selling all these albums to gain more money to support the company, or the staff "stole" the albums and resold them to the online market.

On X then, K-pop stan is trying to make the situation lighthearted and are joking that this is one of the most peculiar things that happened to them while supporting the groups.

However, there are also fans who are frustrated about what the group is going through right now because of their label, although they have the potential to be big if they were only properly managed.

In particular, the group was formed through the survival audition program, "Wild Idol" aired in 2021 and received decent attention for its unique selection of members, where their stamina, skills, and hidden potential were all tested. In 2022, TAN (pronounced as Ti-Ey-En) officially debuted with its first mini album "Limited Edition '1TAN."

Throughout their promotion, they served nothing but excellent stages, but currently, their future is shaken as THINK is considering stopping operating and terminating its contracts with its artists.
