FIFTY FIFTY's Agency Attrakt Claims Trademark Throne in 31 Nations Amid Legal Clashes

In a culmination of legal battles and strategic maneuvers, the agency Attrakt has successfully secured trademarks across multiple international jurisdictions, marking a significant milestone amidst ongoing internal disputes and comeback preparations.

The formal registration in South Korea was finalized on May 24, nearly a year after Attrakt initially applied for the trademark.

Jeon Jong Hak, a prominent patent attorney and president of the World Korean Intellectual Property Association, highlighted the core challenge surrounding Product Classification No. 41, emphasizing the agency's rightful ownership determination by the patent office.

"The core issue lies in Product Classification No. 41, which includes the group name. Since the patent office determined that Attrakt is the rightful owner of the trademark, registering other product classifications is not an issue."

Overseas, Attrakt faced varying timelines and regulatory landscapes.

In China and the UK, trademark applications submitted in July of the previous year were successfully registered by January 7 and November 24, respectively.

The European Union granted registration on February 28, encompassing all 27 member states simultaneously, necessitating separate registration in the UK post-Brexit.

"Registrations have been completed in China, the UK, Taiwan, and the European Union. In the case of the UK, separate registration was required due to Brexit. The European Union registration simultaneously takes effect across 27 countries."

Central to Attrakt's trademark saga is the influence of Keena, a pivotal figure who returned to the agency, bolstering their legal stance and trademark acquisition strategies.

Keena's involvement has proven decisive amidst challenges posed by former members contesting trademark rights.

Following termination of exclusive contracts with dissenting members, Attrakt navigates a significant legal hurdle with a 13 billion KRW damage lawsuit against the former members scheduled for August.

In parallel, the restructured FIFTY FIFTY, now led by Keena and poised for a September comeback, signals a new chapter for the agency and its flagship group.

Keena's consent and active participation have emerged as critical factors in securing and maintaining trademark rights, reflecting a paradigm shift where group members' roles increasingly influence strategic decisions.
