The owner of the number NCT's Renjun leaked has reacted to the idol and SM Entertainment's statement.
On June 21, SM Entertainment released a statement concerning the individual who had their number exposed. Previously, NCT member Renjun exposed the number through Bubble, claiming they were a sasaeng fan trying to call them.
In their statement, SM Entertainment stated that once they discovered the individual had filed a complaint to the police, they immediately conveyed their apologies through the investigating officer and took down Renjun's post.

They asked for fans to not attempt to contact the individual, and ensured that this would not happen again.
Their whole statement reads,
"Hello, this is SM Entertainment.
On June 20, Renjun mistakenly identified an unknown caller as a sasaeng and revealed their phone number on a fan communication platform. We sincerely apologize to the individual affected by this incident.
Upon being informed that the affected person had contacted the police, we immediately expressed our apologies to the investigating officer and removed the message. We are committed to preventing any further harm and urgently request that no one contacts the affected individual.
Renjun is deeply reflecting on his hasty actions, and we also apologize for our shortcomings in managing the situation. We are truly sorry for the distress caused to the affected individual and everyone else involved."
Soon after the post was made, the individual affected took to their X (formerly Twitter) profile to share their thoughts.
Sharing screenshots of SM Entertainment's statement, they questioned why they would apologize via an article rather than contacting them directly.
In another tweet, they revealed that they received a message from the investigation officer around 8-9 PM the previous day. They were informed that SM Entertainment's legal team wanted to contact them and apologize.
They gave them their number but stated that they had not heard from them since.
Korean netizens were quick to slam Renjun, wondering why the idol was refusing to apologize to the party involved directly. People mocked SM Entertainment's crisis management, stating that it is now a bigger issue because of Renjun's silence.
Some comments read,
- "So he's just not going to apologize to the party involved?"
- "What? He didn't even apologize directly but they released an article?"
- "He should have apologized directly, by himself."
- "So is he just not going to apologize himself?"
- "Wow, so he didn't apologize."
- "Why is he acting like that?"
- "Apologizing through an article..."
- "What legendary crisis management,"
- "Why is he turning this into a bigger issue?"
