After the airing of the recent "Unanswered Questions" episode, featuring the theft case in Goo Hara's house, Zico's Instagram was flooded with messages and comments accusing him of being the suspect who stole the late idol's safe.

Netizens claimed he has similarities in terms of physique with the culprit's composite sketch, and emphasized that his intention of robbing the safe was to put a stop to his name being involved in the "Burning Sun" case.

The accusations intensified when it was taken into account that the criminal naturally entered the front door password and attempted to break in while being fully aware of the internal structure of the house.

Thus, it was considered that the suspect knew Hara personally and had a high interest in what was inside the safe, rather than the other valuables like luxury clothes, watches, and more.

On June 23, after the broadcast, Zico posted an Instagram Story where he wrote a cryptic message.

"Is this place a sanctuary or a fence built by foolish defense mechanisms? The off-white ceiling is like the sky. I secretly neglected the outside world to hope for sunlight or rain, so I was dissatisfied with the lonely mood of that day.

Blaming the weather is like a fighter who is projecting his self-imposed emptiness onto the world. You, who reveal countless expressions from the bottom of your heart without filtering, are the most human.

I hope you don't waste your time hesitating anymore."

Although the post has now been deleted, K-pop fans claim that it was his indirect way to express feelings to people doubting him.

Meanwhile, the reason his name has been getting dragged in the "Burning Sun" case of Jung Joon Young and former BIGBANG Seungri is because of his interview in 2016, where he talked about Jung's "golden phone."

Zico already explained no involvement on it, but as the controversy was brought again to the spotlight, the rapper released his official position anew on June 24. He also threatened to file a lawsuit against malicious accusations about him.

KOZ Entertainment's statement stated:

"We have recently confirmed that malicious posts and comments, including defamation, insults, and the spread of false information, have been indiscriminately written regarding our artist Zico on various online communities and SNS.

In particular, as the spreading of malicious rumors and false facts, which clearly show that they are completely unrelated to the artist, has become serious at a level that cannot be tolerated, we have decided that strong legal action against them is urgent."

The idol's label added:

"In addition, we would like to clearly state that the recently raised rumors regarding the artist are also untrue, and we will take strong action against them as well."
