Following the event, a post titled "Joy's eyes right now" was uploaded to Nate Pann, one of the most well-known South Korean online community forums.
In the post, the author shared several screenshots of Joy from the live stream. The focus appeared to be on the female idol's eyes. Earlier this year, the Red Velvet member was accused of undergoing double eyelid surgery.

Korean netizens who saw the post were divided. Some claimed it was obvious she had gone under the knife. People wondered why she did such a thing, claiming she has always been pretty and that getting cosmetic surgery only ruined her visuals.
However, many defended the idol. They claimed that she is still pretty, and the author purposefully took bad screenshots of the female idol to fuel their agenda. Others focus on other features of Joy that deserve praise, such as her smile.
Fans asked their haters to look at the mirror and experience a "reality check," stating Joy is a total visual.
Some comments read,
- "They did Joy's double eyelid line really high..."
- "Joy looks pretty though!"
- "The haters who are criticizing Joy's looks are the ones who are begging in real life to switch faces with her. Joy is pretty and yet she still has so many haters going after her."
- "You really did your best to take weird screenshots of her when she was talking. While watching their live stream and staring intently at Joy's face, you probably looked at your own face in the mirror and experienced a reality check. Hang in there."
- "Her smile is still just as pretty and refreshing. Joy is pretty!"
