In a candid interview on SBS PowerFM's 'Cultwo Show' on July 1st, veteran K-pop star Kim Jaejoong recounted a chilling encounter with a sasaeng fan, shedding light on the dark side of celebrity life.
Kim Jaejoong recently marked his 20th debut anniversary with the release of his 4th full-length album, 'FLOWER GARDEN,' which notably addresses issues related to sasaeng fans. During the interview, he shared a deeply unsettling experience that occurred in his own home.
"There were too many. They came not only to the dorm but also to my home," Kim Jaejoong revealed when asked about sasaeng fan intrusions. He then recounted a specific incident that left him shaken.
"One day, I dreamt that a woman kissed me. It didn't feel like a dream, so I opened my eyes, and it felt like there was a face inside a black cloth," Kim Jaejoong described, visibly disturbed by the memory. "I thought it was a dream and closed my eyes again, but I could feel something. It didn't feel like a dream, so I opened my eyes again, and there was a woman looking down at me. Her black hair was hanging down, so I could only see her face."
The revelation stunned listeners and drew immediate concern for Kim Jaejoong's safety and privacy. The incident underscores the ongoing issue of sasaeng fan behavior, where some fans cross boundaries in their pursuit of personal contact with celebrities.
Kim Jaejoong's album 'FLOWER GARDEN' includes the track 'Don't,' which directly addresses the challenges and dangers posed by sasaeng fans. His decision to speak out about his personal experience reflects a broader effort within the K-pop industry to raise awareness about the impact of obsessive fan behavior on artists' lives.
"It was really scary. Please don't do that," Kim Jaejoong pleaded, urging fans to respect his privacy and personal space. His plea resonates with ongoing discussions about the need for boundaries and respect in fan-celebrity interactions.
