Vanessa Lachey Thanks Spanx After She Gained 65 Pounds While Pregnant

Vanessa Lachey, wife of former 95 Degrees singer Nick Lachey, admitted she gained 65 pounds while pregnant with her first child, Camden, the former Wipeout host told HuffPost Live.

After giving birth, Vanessa said her secret was Spanx. "Thank you to the inventor," she said.

The Lacheys welcomed their son Camden John in September, omg! Yahoo reports.

"I gained, I think, 65 pounds when I was pregnant," she said. "And I will say to moms out there, 'Don't stress about losing it. It will happen when it happens.' Cam's 9 months, so it's been a minute and we're working and we're traveling and it's just about maintaining a happy, healthy lifestyle, not obsessing about it."

Lachey attributed much of the weight gain to too much time spent watching television (including all six seasons of "Breaking Bad") and eating a lot of cereal, UPI.com reports.

"I gained I think it was 65 pounds when I was pregnant," she said.

Vanessa said the secret to combining her career with new motherhood is setting up a sleep schedule for your newborn, and then working with it, UPI writes. She said Camden began sleeping through the whole night when he was just 6 weeks old.

"If you establish a routine for your child, then your routine can be more manageable," she said.

The new mother also said she learned a lot about parenting from two books: "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child" by Dr. Marc Weissbluth and "On Becoming Baby Wise" by Gary Ezzo and Dr. Robert Bucknam.

Lachey told Us Weekly that Nick is already ready to have another child.

"Right now we're happy with where we're at," she said. "We're happy with having him. But in the future, we'd love to add to our family."

Lachey was on HuffPost to promote "Dads," a new Fox series co-starring Seth Green and Giovanni Ribisi.

Vanessa and Nick married in 2011. Nick was previously married to singer Jessica Simpson, and they had a very public relationship that was featured on the reality show "Newlyweds."
