Woman Killed On Hollywood Walk Of Fame While Taking Pictures With Her Friend: Three Individuals Arrested

Woman killed on Hollywood walk of fame leads to the arrest of three individuals who allegedly stabbed the woman while her and her friend were taking photos Tuesday.

It was around 8:30 p.m. in Los Angeles at the busy intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue when Christine Calderon, the woman killed on Hollywood walk of fame, was attempting to take pictures before getting into an altercation with three panhandlers.

The panhandlers allegedly wanted $1 from the woman killed on Hollywood walk of fame when Calderon and her friend were taking pictures while the panhandlers were holding signs, according to the police.

Calderon was stabbed in the torso and later died at a hospital later that night.

Her mother, Yolonde Tassin, told the Los Angeles Times that her daughter had completed her GED and had recently registered for classes at El Camino Community College.

"Her plan was to become an engineer," Tassin said. "She didn't want to waste years. She wanted to get in there and do it right."

The Hollywood walk of fame was established in 1958 and has become a popular tourist area for people to see names of some of the most well-known and famous people over the last 60 years. The stars are permanent public monuments to achievement in the entertainment industry, bearing the names of a mix of actors, musicians, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and others.
