"Fifty Shades of Grey" fans continue to guess who will be cast as Christian Grey in the film. The newest update is that Aaron Johnson and Armie Hammer will not star as the kinky Grey.

Speculation swirled that Aaron Johnson would play the lead role when his wife and previous film collaborator, Sam Taylor-Johnson, 46, was chosen to direct the film.

"Aaron is not doing 50 Shades of Grey," his publicist said in a statement to USA Today on Thursday.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, 23, starred in "Kick Ass" and "Anna Karenina."  He and his wife met while filming 2009's "Nowhere Boy," which she directed and he portrayed a young John Lennon. They were married in 2012 despite more than a two decade age gap, and have two children, USA Today writes.

According to Variety magazine, Aaron "is going to be the supportive father by staying at home this fall to take care of the couple's two kids."

Another rumored favorite was "The Lone Ranger" star Armie Hammer, but Hammer is less than interested in the role.

He told Playboy magazine in an interview: "No one actually offered me the movie, but while I was working on 'Lone Ranger' my agent brought it up, and I said 'Nope.' I mean, come on - it's just mommy porn. I'm not going to sit on top of the laundry machine in spin cycle reading about putting a ball gag in someone's mouth. That doesn't do it for me."

Henry Cavill, who plays Superman in "Man of Steel" was also rumored to play Christian Grey, and responded that if given the part, he could "accept it. Without a doubt."

However, this may not be a possibility, as the "Man of Steel" star will begin filming his latest project "Man From U.N.C.L.E." in the fall, when production of "Fifty Shades of Grey" is likely to begin. The scheduling conflict would make it difficult for "Fifty Shades of Grey" to hire Henry Cavill, The Examiner reports.

These three handsome men are unlikely to star as Christian Grey. But there are many other actors waiting in the wings.
