SNSD Hyoyeon Confesses Thoughts About Her Retirement: 'Will It Be Until This Year...'

In an interview, Girls' Generation Hyoyeon revealed that she had already considered retiring and confessed concerns about her career as a singer.

On July 24, the SNSD's leading dancer uploaded Episode 6 of her solo web entertainment corner called "Hyoyeon who buys us food well."

The 27-minute vlog, featuring her junior idol, Stray Kids Changbin, was uploaded on her YouTube channel, Hyo's Level Up.

On this day, Hyoyeon and the male star talked about various topics, especially their careers as K-pop idols. When Changbin asked how long the female icon was planning to be a singer, the latter revealed her concerns.

Hyoyeon honestly replied:

"That's a question I ask myself every day."

The SNSD member then explained why, saying:

"A singer has the limits with the energy they can show and with the concepts, too."

She continued with a meaningful remark, adding:

"But recently, really... Will it be until this year? Until next year? I really have these thoughts sometimes. When would be a good time?"

Hyoyeon made even Changbin laughed when she asked:

"How long will you do it?"

Meanwhile, Girls' Generation, the group to which Hyoyeon belongs, debuted in 2007 and is celebrating its 17th debut anniversary this August.

While the members were not together and doing their respective solo schedules, all eight members decided to make a full comeback if the opportunity came.

On the July 21 JTBC 'Newsroom' broadcast, Girls' Generation member Tiffany appeared and talked about her plans for full group promotions, drawing attention.

Going back to the show, Hyoyeon along with Changbin recalled SNSD's popularity as they talked about being able to contribute about 99% stake in the company.

In particular, the topic was mentioned when the female idol asked her junior if they moved to the new JYP building. Changbin then replied:

"We haven't moved yet. We are moving in 5 years. I was a trainee for 2 to 3 years, at that time, I was in Cheongdam. After our debut, we went to our new headquarters a year or two later. I heard it's really big."

Hyo said:

"Our company has also moved to better places. As we become more successful. There was a time when we were located in Cheongdam. At the time, the Girls' Generation's share was... I can confidently say almost 99%.

Now we've moved to Seongsu-dong but that's not because of us... aespa and... NCT... we don't have much of a share there."
