K-pop's biggest soloist IU and actor Lee Jong Suk are rumored to have broken up, and here's why.
Back on December 31, 2023, Dispatch revealed that IU and Lee Jong Suk were dating for approximately four months at that time. The two first met on "Inkigayo" ten years ago and became close friends. Over time, their friendship evolved into a blooming romance.

Dispatch shared photos of the two at the airport on their way to and from Nagoya, Japan, where they spent Christmas together. The couple reportedly had a three-day vacation at a luxury resort. The report also stated that the families of the two stars were aware of the relationship, with IU singing at Lee Jong Suk's younger brother's wedding, and Lee Jong Suk was invited by IU's younger brother to their Christmas vacation.
That same day, both IU and Lee Jong Suk confirmed they were in a relationship. Since then, the two have vocally supported each other, mentioning each other in interviews. Lee Jong Suk had even gone viral for wearing merchandise from IU's concert, and was seen attending her shows.

However, some believe the two have split.
On August 1, a post on an online community forum titled "I think Lee Jong Suk and IU broke up" went viral. In the post, the author noted that an article was released concerning the two. Though they did not explicitly state that the two stars broke up, the author mentioned that IU and Lee Jong Suk spent their days off separately.

According to the original poster, this is a back-handed way of saying they have broken up.
Reactions to the rumors were strong from Korean netizens. Many hoped that the two were still together, with some even expressing their desire to see them get married. People believe they look good together, and could potentially be soulmates.
