Following the legal action Seungri took against an Indonesian club promoter for using his name, he also clapped back at netizens who claimed he picked up girls in Bali.
On August 12, Korean media outlet Maeil Kyungjae wrote an article about the former BIGBANG member being spotted at a Bali club several times on the 10th.
According to the report, Seungri was presumably talking to Korean women who visited the club when one of them asked:
"Will Seung Hyun (Seungri's real name) buy it for me?"
A supposed voice of Seungri was then heard suggesting:
"I will buy it. Our accommodation is 5 minutes away. Let's go and play together."
When this news spread among K-pop fans and K-Netz, they immediately criticized the former idol. Seungri had just been released from prison for nine charges, including arranging prostitution. Thus, the public opinion about him is still not good.
On August 13, Seungri then revealed his position on this rumor through Daily Sports and explained:
"The woman (with me) in the photo is our acquaintance's girlfriend who accompanied us on our vacation (in Bali). I have never spoken to Korean tourists. It was also not me who spoke to the Korean tourists, but another acquaintance who's also with us."

He further clarified that he was not the one who said the comment like, "Let's go to our accommodation and play together," adding:
"It was something said by an acquaintance, but they linked it to 'Seungri's group' and reported it as if I said it. Like other ordinary people, I'm just enjoying a vacation with my acquaintances. If you look at it in a bad way, it's bad, but if you look at it differently, it's ordinary, so it's embarrassing."
Seungri left BIGBANG and retired from the entertainment industry in 2019 after being involved in the "Burning Sun Gate" scandal.
After imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months, he distanced himself from the limelight. However, he was continuously embroiled in various rumors, such as his allegedly attending a "Burning Sun" party in Surabaya as its "guest of honor."
Seungri sternly denied his participation in this event and announced that he would take legal action against the club and its promoter for using his name and photo.
In response, the Indonesian promoter TSV Management already canceled the event and apologized for its misleading poster and announcement. Despite this, Seungri's side showed no leniency and replied:
"This is not an apology for using my photo and name, but an apology for possibly causing problems in the local nightlife environment. It's just an excuse that they insisted they never said I would come when I said I was going to sue. I am currently preparing to file a complaint, and I plan to begin formal procedures next week."
