BIGBANG Celebrates 18th Debut Anniversary — But TOP Gives VIPs Mixed Emotions After 'Doing' THIS

While VIPs rejoiced after getting BIGBANG crumbs from GD, Taeyang, and Daesung, T.O.P. drew mixed reactions for "doing" THIS on their 18th debut anniversary.

On August 19, "Kings of K-pop" BIGBANG celebrates their 18th year since debuting in 2006 as a group under YG Entertainment.

Although the members didn't gather together to enjoy the special day, the trio commemorated it with VIPs (fandom) with respective Instagram posts.

Starting with G-Dragon, he posted the album cover of their last digital single so far, "Still Life," released in April 2022, and wrote the hashtag, "bigbang18thanniversary." He also shared photos of the remaining members Taeyang and Daesung.

Daesung, who was tagged in the post, also sent his congratulations by regramming GD's post. On this day, VIPs also screamed in happiness after videos circulated where the two were seen celebrating GD's 36th birthday together on Aug. 18th.

Lastly, although Taeyang is busy taking care of his wife and son born in 2021, he didn't forget to celebrate their anniversary. On IG, he also posted a photo of a crown emoji on top of a tower of yellow hearts, representing BIGBANG and its fandom VIPs.

These small gestures were truly appreciated by their fans and gave them happy hearts, when T.O.P., a former member of the group, drew attention for allegedly blocking fans who were tagging him in OT4 posts.

While he already left the team, some VIPs still honor his contribution to BIGBANG, then mentioning him in their posts. However, fans noticed that the former idol blocked posts linking him to the group.

Instead, he would only hit the "like" button to those who were congratulating him alone, as Aug. 19th is also his 18th debut anniversary as a K-pop idol.

With this, fans are guessing that T.O.P. doesn't want to be associated with BIGBANG anymore, nor want anything to do with them.

He has not made any comments regarding this and his last posts were all about the wine brand that he launched, the T'SPOT wine.

Meanwhile, BIGBANG was originally a 5-member act consisting of G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung, T.O.P, and Seungri.

During their prime, they rose as K-pop's #1 boy group after releasing numerous hit songs such as "Lies," "Haru Haru," "Sunset Glow," "FANTASTIC BABY" and many more.

Unfortunately, their position crumbled when two of the members, T.O.P. and Seungri were embroiled in two separate issues amid their military hiatus.

In 2017, T.O.P. revealed that he had smoked marijuana while serving as a police officer. As a result, he was sentenced to 10 months in prison and 2 years of probation and was judged '"unfit" to serve as a police officer again, completing his military service as a social service agent.

In 2019, Seungri announced his withdrawal from BIGBANG along with his retirement from the entertainment industry after the controversy surrounding the "Burning Sun Gate."

He served a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison on nine charges but he is currently facing multiple controversies again related to his frequent sightings in clubs.
