In an interview, NMIXX Sullyoon had a satisfying response when asked to rank herself against her fellow K-pop beauties IVE Jang Wonyoung and aespa Karina.
On Aug. 20, the girl group NMIXX appeared on the YouTube channel, "The KStar Next Door 4," hosted by the Congolese YouTuber Jonathan Yiombi.
On this day, MC Jonathan dished on each member's strengths in various categories, particularly in singing, dancing, visuals, and entertainment skills. He also asked them tough questions related to these.
Just then, he mentioned Sullyoon's looks and teased her by saying:
"Sullyoon, you pretended to be down to earth but you kept asking your fans if you were pretty."
However, the idol calmly responded:
"I think that shows my desire to be approved. I'm curious now."
Sullyoon, often praised for her beauty and vocals, was further asked by the host whether she'd rather be recognized for her appearance or singing first. The idol chose the latter without hesitation.
Not giving him the response that he expected, MC Jonathan suddenly brought up the current famous visual triangle Sullyoon, Karina, and Jang Wonyong.

He explained:
"Nowadays, people say JANGKASULL. It's a neologism. Jang Wonyoung, Karina, and Sullyoon. Have you heard about it before?"
For context, the three 4th-generation idols are lauded for their outstanding visuals, popularity, skills, and other metrics. Fandoms and netizens have also been debating on who should be No. 1 among them.
Implying that she was aware of it, MC Jonathan tried to provoke Sullyoon and suggested she ranks herself among the three. He asked:
"Your name comes at the end. What do you prefer, do you prefer SULLJANGKA or SULLKAJANG? What's better?"
Facing a difficult question, the other NMIXX members were surprised and jokingly called him out for asking such a question. But Sullyoon, who remained composed amid being put in a hot seat, "counterattacked."
"What do you think (is the better name), Nathan?"
Feeling awkward with the question, MC Jonathan hilariously tried to escape the situation by turning to the crew.
"Wow...Hey! Are you seriously calling this a script? Hey, what kind of question is that? Fix it. If you do this, I refuse to be the host."
Sullyoon caused laughter for showing no leniency.
"Then do we get to be the new hosts?"
Meanwhile, NMIXX just released their 3rd mini-album, "Fe3O4: STICK OUT," on Aug. 19th.
The new album contains a total of six tracks: the title track "See that?," "SICKUHH" (Feat. Kid Milli), "Red light sign, but we go," "BEAT BEAT," "Moving On," and "Love is Lonely."
Upon its release, the album climbed in various domestic music charts, and seeing this, industry insiders claimed:
"Compared to other 4th-generation girl groups, their growth rate may seem slow, but the fact that they are gradually building awareness based on solid skills will be a strength that can sustain the team’s vitality.
If they advance to the global stage like their senior groups TWICE and ITZY, we expect them to show an even greater range of growth than they have now."
