In an online community, ReVeluvs expressed their displeasure after Red Velvet's official account announced this about Wendy.
On August 21, K-netz and ReVeluvs (Red Velvet fandom) expressed their ire to the staff of SM Entertainment's Center 3 after making an announcement that they would no longer post photos of Wendy from her radio show.
In particular, the idol returned on SBS PowerFM's "Young Street" on Aug. 19 as the DJ. She has been leading the radio program since July 2021, but she had to step down last year due to a conflict in schedule.
Kwon Eunbi then filled in as the show's host. But one year later, Wendy was tapped to head the program again since Eunbi had announced she would focus more on her other solo activities on Aug. 4.
During Wendy's comeback show, radio listeners and viewers were filled with her "happy virus" as she spread her positive and cheerful energy on the set, on top of her DJing skills.
She said:
"I thought I would come back someday, but it's hard to believe, like a dream. More than anything, I really missed communicating with the listeners, and I will work hard to become a 'Wandy' who can give you good energy for a long time."

While this moment was precious to both the idol and her fans, Red Velvet's official SNS "ruined" it with an unexpected post.
On X, SM stated:
"Wendy’s return to the first broadcast of Young Street's commemorative photo. Please check out Wendy’s photos on Young Street’s official account in the future!"
With this, it was implied that Red Velvet's SNS would stop posting her photos on the main account from the radio program, earning massive complaints.
Compared to the "Young Street" official account, Red Velvet's main SNS has a larger following (6 million); thus, the reach is wider if Wendy's activity is promoted through this account.
Disappointed, fans began calling out SM and Center 3 for not going all out when it comes to Red Velvet and Wendy when, according to them, the only work that they need to do is actively promote the members while they are yet to make a new release.
Here are some of the comments:
- "What are you saying? You should upload here as well."
- "Next time, remember to post on X on time."
- "It's not even a joke, it's real?"
- "It's really strange, why don't you upload it to the public domain? I'm asking because I'm really curious."
- "Why all of a sudden? Didn't Wendy renew her solo contract? Why did it change? Why? They didn't even release an article saying Wendy returned as a DJ. Why can't you upload her photos in the future? Why?"
"Center 3 is something that makes people feel embarrassed. (1) Uploading photos a long time after the artist's schedule is over (2) Declare one day that they will no longer do their job.
I won't say anything about you guys uploading the photos late. But isn't it too much to not upload photos from her first day? Do your job. I won't ask for more. Just post photos every day, tomorrow and the day after."
