K-Netz React to SISTAR Hyolyn's Reply When Asked Who's the Next-Gen 'Summer Queen'
After hearing Hyolyn's response to the question who's the next-gen "Summer Queen," K-Netz expressed their reactions in an online community.
In a recent episode of Jonathan's YouTube web show, "The KStar Next Door 4" uploaded on Aug. 13th, Hyolyn who returned as a soloist appeared as its special guest.
On this day, she promoted her new single, Wait" which was released on various music platforms on the 12th. Upon its release, the track proved her status as the OG "Summer Queen" by topping both domestic and international charts.
It particularly ranked atop the iTunes K-pop charts in Spain, France, and Germany, as well as the iTunes Dance chart in Thailand, also creating the "Wait" dance challenge craze on media platforms such as TikTok.
During the broadcast, MC Nathan and Hyolyn then mentioned SISTAR's position as K-pop's "Summer Queen" for creating hits during the season such as "Touch My Body," "Ma Boy" and "SHAKE IT."
Nathan then delved deeper into the title and asked:
"Recently, a lot of younger singers are after your 'Summer Queen' title."

Hyolyn agreed but praised her juniors' skills. Among them, she mentioned KISS OF LIFE and commented:
"I've seen KISS OF LIFE singing 'Touch My Body' on this show. I found them cute and lovely. I'm happy that people still sing it. I was proud of myself."
Hearing this, the Congolese MC asked the crucial question, saying:
"In your opinion, anyone who deserves to succeed your throne?"
Hesitating for a bit, Hyolyn, however, honestly answered:
"Well... I'll be honest and get it off my chest. SISTAR can't be replaced."
Following the broadcast, Hyolyn and SISTAR became the talk of the town when an OP posted an article in theqoo, featuring Hyolyn's thoughts that there's no second "Summer Queen" following her group.
As of writing, the post amassed over 70k views, and about 400 comments from K-Netz all agreeing to her and praising her confidence in their group.
- "Oh, lol. I admit it."
- "Agreed."
However, some expressed their regret that SISTAR hasn't made a reunion comeback yet and teased the idol by sarcastically asking who are they and that they should make a comeback as soon as possible to introduce the quartet.
- "Then all four of you should make a comeback quickly."
- "But who is SISTAR?"
- "If they know. then they should come back with a clear conscience."
- "That's right, SISTAR just has that unique flavor. But if you say it like, you have to give us something."
- "That's right, there's no other group with that body, that singing ability and hit song."
- "But these days, it seems like they don't do seasonal songs. It's a shame. There used to be a lot of idols who did seasonal concepts like summer songs and winter songs."
