PlayStation 3 Update: Fix For Sony PS3's Firmware 4.45 ‘Bricks’ Console To Be Available June 27

A new PlayStation 3 update for system software will be available on June 27 which aims to repair the 'bricked' consoles caused by a recent firmware update version 4.45.

Polygon reports that Sony Computer Entertainment has announced yesterday that a PlayStation 3 system software update will arrive on June 27 to resolve the issue of 'bricked' consoles made by the firmware update version 4.45 released on June 18. This Playstation 3 update version 4.45 is released to add notification options for the PlayStation Network Trophies and further 'improve system stability.' However, after installing the Sony Playstation 3 update v 4.45, users were reporting that they cannot load the system's main menu.  Apparently, the PlayStation 3 consoles were locked up after installing the firmware 4.45 update.

Sony immediately pulled out the update while it was investigating the issue and searching ways for its resolution. Furthermore, those who have installed the PlayStation 3 update version 4.45 and experienced the issues notified their peers through Twitter.

And just yesterday, June 21, Sony made an announcement that the fix for the PlayStation firmware v4.45 will be available next week, June 27.

Morgan Haro of the PlayStation Network Community told, "We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week. A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience."

Haro further added that Sony will provide details along with the upcoming PlayStation 3 update on how the users with bricked consoles can fix the system.
