Oh My Girl Mimi went viral for her hair and makeup upgrade, which shy away from her signature braids.

On Aug. 26, Oh My Girl made their return to the music scene with their 10th mini-album, "Dreamy Resonance," and title track, "Classified."

Upon release, they started their music show promotions on Mnet's "M Countdown" on the 29th, KBS2's "Music Bank" on the 30th, MBC's "Show! Music Core" on the 31st, and SBS's "Inkigayo" on September 1st.

During their first week of activities, the sextet flaunted outstanding vocals, dance, and visuals and earned an explosive response from K-pop fans.

However, Mimi is said to have stood out most, especially when she showed off her new hairstyle, upgraded makeup, and coordination or "hemeko."

To recall, people criticized the member for breaking the group's princess-like image by preserving her braided hair and daily makeup. Fans thought she stood out a lot for the wrong reasons, emphasizing that she should align her styling according to the group's pure and innocent image.  

During the latter music show appearances that they had then, Mimi surprised viewers when she finally let go of her braids and let down her mermaid curls.

The idol also changed her makeup style and opted for a more natural idol look, rather than her bright pink lipstick and tan shade. 

When MIRACLEs (fandom) saw this, Mimi was praised and acknowledged for her effort to upgrade her style after listening to their feedback. 

Contrary to her hip styling before, fans compared the idol to Disney characters and commented that her beauty with mermaid curls reminded them of Moana. At the same time, her visuals resemble Esmeralda from "The Hunchback of Notre Dame."
