The 2024 Billboard Music Awards included several household K-pop names in its list of nominees.
On November 25, Billboard officially announced the nominees for its highly anticipated 2024 Billboard Music Awards. Aside from the international artists, the awards show included several names in the nominee list in its four new K-pop categories.
These categories include the Top Global K-pop Artist, Top K-pop Album, Top Global K-pop Song, and Top K-pop Touring Artist. Starting off with the Top Global K-pop Artist, the category was occupied by Jungkook, Jimin, Stray Kids, TXT, and ENHYPEN.
Meanwhile, the Top K-pop Album included the most successful K-pop releases. This included "GOLDEN" by Jungkook, "THE WORLD EP.FIN: WILL" by ATEEZ, "The Name Chapter: FREEFALL" by TXT, and Stray Kids' "ROCK-STAR" and "ATE."
In the category for Top Global K-pop Song, the candidates are LE SSERAFIM's "Perfect Night," ILLIT's "Magnetic," Jimin's "Who," and Jungkook's "Standing Next to You" and "3D (feat. Jack Harlow)."
The Top K-pop Touring Artist was claimed by K-pop groups ENHYPEN, SEVENTEEN, and TXT. Furthermore, Stray Kids received a nomination for Top / Duo Group outside the four K-pop categories.
Jungkook's single "Standing Next to You" was also nominated for the Top Selling Song. The BTS maknae also received a nomination for Top Song Sales Artist.
