STAYC trended on social media for its cover stage at the 2024 Music Bank Global Festival in Japan.
The "Cheeky Icy Thang" singers attended the festival's first day on the 14th, at the Mizuho PayDay Dome, in Fukuoka. STAYC, known for their "teenfresh" concept and catchy discography, captivated everyone with their cover of KARA's iconic song, "Mister."
Though the official video of the performance hasn't been uploaded yet, that didn't stop STAYC's fans, SWITHs, from raving about their performance online.
On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), fans uploaded numerous fancams showing the group slaying the performance.
The videos also showed the girls performing in matching shirts and pants, which are nostalgic throwbacks to KARA's outfits for the song's comeback stages. STAYC members also did justice to KARA's song by flexing their impressive vocals and synchronized dancing.
"Mister" is listed on KARA's second album "Revolution," and despite its initial status as a non-title track, the song eventually saw immense success, thus, propelling KARA to stardom. Aside from its catchy tune, the song is also well-loved for its memorable and fun choreography.
In other news, STAYC won the trophy for Best Artist award at the first Korea Grand Music Awards earlier on November 16. STAYC also had a great run this 2024, as the group released its first studio album "Metamorphic" on July 1 and its third digital single album "...i" on October 30.
