On December 20, the Grammy Awards released its "Top 10 Most Electrifying Songs in 2024" list, spotlighting standout K-pop releases. Surprisingly, the music industry's highest honor didn't only select title tracks but also picked B-sides.
Listed by order of release dates, the Top 10 list mentioned some of TikTok's trending songs, such as aespa's "Supernova," which also secured the No. 1 seat in South Korean major music charts like MelOn's Top 100. KISS OF LIFE's "Igloo," a B-side off their third mini-album, Lose Yourself, also drew attention for its enticing trap beats.
"It's the kind of song that requires a specific 'cool girl'-ness to work," noted the GRAMMY Awards.

On top of the aforementioned, more girl group songs, such as LE SSERAFIM's "Crazy" and Kep1er's "Shooting Star," topped the list.
Rescene, a girl group who debuted in 2024 and is considered "nugu" (a group that is underrated or lesser known), amazingly made it onto the GRAMMYs' best pick as well, with their track "Love Attack."
"This is the most K-poppiest song that has ever K-popped in a while and I just wish they would get more recognition for it," wrote a netizen as highlighted by the GRAMMYs.
In addition, some of the biggest fifth-gen boy groups made the cut, such as RIIZE's "Impossible" and ZEROBASEONE's "Good So Bad." Both tracks invoke nostalgia and timeless classic sounds that push to the forefront hope and eagerness.
BOYNEXTDOOR's "Dangerous" was also chosen, a song that, like its title, suggests rebelliousness and features the members' charisma.
Two of the biggest soloists' tracks in the music scene reigned, including SHINee Taemin's B-side, "Crush," a release encapsulating Taemin's power.
Lastly, EXO Baekhyun's single, "Pineapple Slice" solidified its spot in the Top 10. The song flexed the soloist's masterful dexterity in belting R&B melodies was just one of the factors that landed it on the list.
