Actor Yoo Ah In, real name Uhm Hong Sik, has sold his Itaewon home in Seoul's Yongsan District to a seven-year-old child amidst his ongoing drug trial.

The home was sold for 6.3 billion won (~ $4,300,840). The child paid for the home in full cash upfront, without any loans or a mortgage.

According to the property register, Yoo Ah In transferred home ownership rights to seven-year-old Park, born in July 2017.

The home sales contract was signed on November 20, with the ownership transfer finalized on November 19.

The child is reported to be the offspring of a fashion brand CEO couple, with the address listed during the ownership registration matching the couple's residence.

Yoo Ah In had previously shown off the Itaewon home on the MBC entertainment program 'I Live Alone' before listing it for sale.

While the home had been valued higher at around 8 billion KRW (about $5,461,150), it was sold at a lower price.

Yoo Ah In is currently under investigation for drug-related offenses, including the illegal use of propofol over 180 times between September 2020 and March 2022.

Yoo is also accused of obtaining over 1,100 sleeping pills under another person's prescription from May 2021 to August 2022. Furthermore, the actor faces charges for smoking marijuana three times in the U.S. in January this year.

The prosecution, in the second hearing of Yoo's trial, requested a four-year prison sentence, with Yoo's defense team filing for an appeal.

"He did not intentionally violate the law or regulations, but developed an addiction to sedative drugs due to an already physically and mentally difficult situation," Yoo's defense said in the first trial, pleading for leniency on terms that the actor had suffered after losing his father in August.

Yoo's next trial ruling is scheduled for February 18, 2025.
