T.O.P's performance on Squid Game 2 has continued to receive divided reactions from fans. However, one Korean news reporter was not kind to the former BIGBANG member due to his acting and controversial past.

Korean news outlet OSEN released a report that explored the feedback of T.O.P's performance on Squid Game 2. In the show, the idol played Thanos, an oddball rapper and drug user who served as a secondary antagonist in Season 2.

T.O.P's performance made headlines due to the parallels his role had with his real-life experiences, as the idol was tested positive for marijuana use in 2017.

While many praised his performance as Thanos, this new report harshly labeled T.O.P as the "Druggie Rapper" and called his acting "cringe-worthy" due to his unprecedented English-speaking moments and boasting demeanor.

"T.O.P, who returned after laying low from the entertainment industry has many gaps. Thanos' English dialogue and bravado rap are nothing short of cringe-worthy."

The report continued, "The character itself is cringe-inducing, and he continuously plays the part without being unable to overcome that cringe factor, and so what becomes of the viewers?"

It also cited aspects such as the difference in reactions between overseas and Korean viewers due to language barriers and delivery.

"Since (the show) was not mainly in their language, viewers from overseas might be more tolerant of this performance. But for Korean viewers, who can discern the subtle meaning of every word and comprehend it more proficiently, T.O.P's performance is bound to come off as clumsy."

It added, "Director Hwang Dong Hyuk promised good results, but he realized that he needed a rapper who actually did drugs. Not his acting skills."
