STAYC's Sumin is slated to thrill fans with her big-screen debut!
In an exclusive report from Ilgan Sports, the "Cheeky Icy Thang" songstress is poised to launch her acting career in the 2025 horror film "Guishi" (Guess Who), directed by Hong Won Ki, known for his chilling anthologies "Goedam" and "Urban Myths."
Hong, who also helmed the iconic music videos for K-pop legends Girls' Generation and SHINee, was impressed by Sumin's acting potential while directing some of STAYC's MVs, leading him to cast the idol in his forthcoming spine-chilling project.
Thanks to Sumin's efforts and determination to finish recording three episodes, the filming concluded in April 2024.
The "ASAP" hitmaker said she felt comfortable during filming sessions due to the director's generosity. She also enthusiastically poured her energy and dedication into her role, even going so far as to wear a wire during a scene where her waist was bent.
Looking ahead to 2025, Sumin will also focus on her group activities with STAYC, which is set for an exciting February comeback.
While the members—Isa, Sieun, J, Yoon, and Sumin—remain tight-lipped about their upcoming release, they assured that fans will be surprised by the content nonetheless.
