Upon the post, eagle-eyed NCTzens (NCT fans) discovered that the Rolex he gave to Young Ji is a Rolex Submariner Date in Oyster, specifically the discontinued 16610 model, the "Kermit."

The exquisite timepiece is currently sold in the Korean market for a jaw-dropping price of $1,200 (KRW 16,170,000).

While many were happy for Young Ji, saying that she deserved the gift, it unexpectedly sparked outrage among some of Mark's fans. On social media, they criticized the "Hello Future" hitmaker for his gesture.

"Even his own members didn't get this treatment. What about the fans who supported him? They deserve something too," one netizen berated.

The post went viral after many fans agreed that Mark overdid it.

However, the two idols' supporters jumped to defend the NCT member and raved about how sweet and thoughtful he was.

Aside from being a co-worker, Lee Young Ji openly revealed through the years that she has been a huge fan of Mark.
