Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 release date is set on July 7, with a starting price of $199.  

Samsung has announced that the Galaxy Tab 3 release date will be on the 7th of July, but it will be available for pre-order beginning tomorrow, June 25. According to a report from CNET, "there's very little" to be excited about in this newest offering from Samsung, especially when looking at the Galaxy Tab 3's specs and pricing.

CNET reported that The Galaxy Tab 3's price, set at $199, can be a suitable rate for 7-inch tablets nowadays. However, based on the Galaxy Tab 3 specs, the price does not match up with the most popular 7-inch tablets produced last year.

After purchasing a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 priced at $199 beginning on its release date on July 7, the users will be able to get a tablet device equipped with only the minimum 8GB of internal storage. The display screen only has 1024X600 resolution.

According to the CNET news report, this is much lower than the specs of the Nexus 7 and Kindle Fire HD, which are available for $199, too, but start with 16GB of storage. Other Galaxy Tab 3 specs to note are:  Android Jelly Bean 4.1 dual core processor, 1.2 GHz processor and micro-SD expansion.

Aside from the 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 priced at $199, there will also be 8-inch and 10.1-inch versions of the upcoming tablet. According to a report from Engadget, the 8-inch Galaxy Tab 3's price will be $299. The 8-inch Galaxy Tab 3 specs include more powerful Exynos (1.5 GHz dual-core processor), higher resolution (1280X800), TFT display, Android 4.2, 5 MP camera, 16 GB storage and 1.5 GB RAM.

The most expensive Galaxy Tab 3 (priced at $399) from Samsung has a 10.1 inch screen and Intel 1.6GHz dual core processor. It has the same Galaxy Tab 3 specs of the 8-inch version when it comes to the camera and storage capacity. The RAM capacity, however, is lower, with only 1 GB.
