Though "Legend of Korra" season 2 still does not have a confirmed premiere date, fans were treated with a "first look" trailer last week along with spoilers about the book 2.

Bryan Konietzko, a co-creator of the Nickelodeon animated series, recently enticed fans with a Tumblr upload showing the production team working on the upcoming season in the studio.

Hardcore followers of the show immediately noticed a new character known as Verick, in a scene with the heroine Korra.

According to Hypable, Verick was introduced at last year's San Diego Comic Con, and is a member of the Southern Water Tribe like Korra. Verick will reportedly develop with a budding friendship with Bolin in season two.

In addition, a sneak peek was uploaded last week featuring both Konietzko and his partner Michael Dante DiMartino, where they show an exclusive clip of the upcoming season and elaborate on some things to come.

"Korra has a whole new realm of things that she has to battle and master," said Konietzko. "She ventures into the spirit world!"

"The spirits can take different forms," elaborated DiMartino. "There's creature spirits, then there's also these light and dark spirits."

Other new characters confirmed at last year's Comic Con include Tenzin's older brother Bumi, Korra's paternal uncle Unalaq, as well as Korra's first consins, Desna and Eska.
