Madonna ‘Secret Project’ Trailer Video: ‘Vogue’ Singer Shoots Dancer in Head in Controversial Clip, Defends Use Of Guns [VIDEO]

Madonna released a trailer for her new "Secret Project," and at one point shoots a dancer in the head. The pop singer is known for pushing the boundaries with her music, and Madonna defends her use of guns on stage and in her videos.

Madonna, 45, stands over a dancer lying on the ground with a gun, points her own gun at his head, and shoots him execution-style. As The Daily Mail suggests, it seems Madonna is confronting the current debate in the United States about gun control laws.

The black-and-white, one minute video also features torture, brutality, violence, and dirty prison cells, all to the tune of classical music. One scene shows Madonna being dragged and thrown into a prison cell by guards.

The short video is a collaboration with photographer Steven Klein. It also features interpretive dance and in particular a male ballet dancer juxtaposed with the violent scenes - in another clip, a man seems to try to escape a police cell by smashing his head against the window.

Madonna has teased fans about her mystery project for months, including releasing images on her Instagram. All the posts, including this video, include the hashtag "#secretproject" and according to The Daily Mail include messages about love and equality.

When asked on "Good Morning America"' whether she would delete the footage of guns from her upcoming tour documentary, Madonna reportedly said "That would be like asking people to not have guns in action movies. The thing is, guns don't kill people, people kill people."

The Daily Mail also writes that Madonna has always used extreme imagery to promote her music. When she released her "Erotica" album, she published a book titled "Sex," and used bondage imagery in her "Justify My Love" video.

The singer's MDNA concert film airs this Saturday.
