With Showtime's hit series "Homeland" set to premiere season three in September, a few cast members have picked up other projects along the way, including Damian Lewis (Sgt. Brody) and David Harewood (David Estes).

Harewood, 47, will be gracing the New York stage as Oberon in "Midsummer," a reworking of "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

"Actually I turned down a role in a movie so I could do the theatre gig. I thought I'd get more out of doing some Shakespeare," says Harewood to The Independent.

"There may be some 'light flying' involved. I am so damn excited!"

Unfortunately, Harewood will not return to "Homeland" this year, after his character was killed off at the end of season two.

But what about Brody? As season two ended, Brody had to go on the run after being framed for the bombing of the CIA headquarters.

Currently, Lewis is shooting upcoming movie "The Silent Storm," and has reportedly shaved his head for a yet unnamed role.

According to Us Magazine, the film is about "an enigmatic outsider who's caught between her commanding minister husband [Lewis] and the vitality of a 17-year-old delinquent who is sent to live with them."

But don't worry, the 42-year-old British actor is only on a break from shooting "Homeland," but is set to return to play opposite Claire Danes (Carrie Mathison).

"The issue in this season is, what happens if it were learned that a major attack on the United States was sponsored by a state? These are the big concerns that we're going to deal with in the first sweep of episodes," says co-creator Alex Gansa.

"And then there's the big question about, you know, where Brody is? Does anybody know that Carrie helped him get out of the country?"

The Huffington Post also reports that newcomers Joanna Merlin, Nazanin Boniadi, Amy Morton, Lawrence Clayton, and Tracy Letts will all join season three.
